It has taken almost 12 months but this project was worth the wait. Finding out we were going to have a baby put a pause on most of our home projects while we focused on being parents to this crazy little nugget.
Nora June is four months old and her nursery is finally complete. Nora’s is by far the prettiest room is the house. We didn’t know what we were having so we planned the nursery to be gender neutral with Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore for the walls and Clear Blue Sky by Glidden for the ceiling, finishing it off with cloud stickers and an IKEA light that Mark has had his eye on for years.

I wasn’t sure about a theme but when I saw these curtains on another blog they inspired me. I found ours on CafePress.com.
Wall Decals from Amazon.
The hot air balloon prints are digital downloads from Etsy shop PaperCanoePrintables.
Mark and I rescued the dresser for $10 at an estate sale last summer. The drawers were filled with recorded VHS tapes of Perry Mason. We refinished it with cut-outs from vintage children’s books we bought at Savers.
Staying with the children’s book theme for my baby shower I found the cutest invitations deigned by MLKstudio on Etsy. I framed it and also had the designer print larger images of baby George, Madeline and Babar. The lamp is an antique that my mom gave me.
My favorite Etsy find was this print that combines all my favorites, Babar, gnomes and the letter N. It is from an old book and just happened to be so perfect! My sister-in-law gave Nora the gnomes and adorable cloth nesting bowls from MagicCabin.com.
The swivel rocker was a custom order from The Madison Furniture Barn at the Westbrook outlets. Fabric is Pergola Ice from P. Kaufmann. The lemonade sign is from Pottery Barn Kids circa 2006. It was a gift from a family I used to nanny for and I’ve been dragging it from apartment to apartment and now finally it has found a home in Nora’s nursery.
Some of my favorite things in the room are the party decor from my baby shower. My mother-in- law searched tag sales and thrift stores for months for vintage items like the Peter Rabbit bookends, Babar doll, and Curious George.
The final touch to the hot air balloon & vintage children’s book room is this Babar light switch cover from Etsy. Can you tell I love Etsy?
The room came out cuter then I could have hoped for. Nora loves spending time in here and maybe she will even sleep in it someday!
